Application
I'm ready to put this thing on. Is
there something I should know?
It's not rocket science.
I'm sure you'll do fine, but just in case this is your first time, here
are our suggestions:
1. Clean and dry the surface where your decal will be applied. Most
window cleaners do just fine. Denatured Alcohol is a common
product used for this purpose. Your goal here is to remove any
substances that may prevent your decal from sticking. If you are
applying your decal to a surface other than a clear glass window,
refer to the label on your cleaner to be sure it won't harm the surface.
2. Carefully peel the tape and decal away from the backing material.
Pick your target, aim and stick. I find that it helps to stick the top
edge of the masking material to the surface and apply downward. A
squeegee or a similar straight edge should do the trick. (Credit cards
can be handy for this.) Rub the whole thing firmly from the middle
out towards the edge. This will help push out any bubbles you may
have. Your fingers should do the trick or you could use your straight
edge again. We recommend using your fingertips to "seal the deal"
literally. The pads of your fingertips allow plenty of pressure to be
applied without damage.
3. Remove the masking/application tape by pulling slowly downward.
Try not to pull directly away from the surface as this may pull at the
decal.
Worth noting:
60 - 80 degrees F is ideal for application, however it's not always
practical to wait for a nice day. If you are working in an area that
will allow for a hair dryer to be used, this may work to bring your
surface to the ideal temp.
If the decal is placed on your vehicle, don't wash it for 72 hours.
We've seen instances where a vigorous washing too soon can damage
or greatly shorten the lifespan of your new decal.
If you get air bubbles, you can pop them with a needle to release the
air.
We have put stickers on lots of things with absolutely no ill affects.
This same material is used to detail automobiles, motorcycles, boats,
and tons of other stuff. We've put it on plastic, glass, painted
surfaces, smooth wood, varnished surfaces, stone, metal... just about
any place imaginable. That said, we cannot offer a blanket statement
as to how the decal will act on your chosen surface.
If you just can't figure out where to put your sticker/s, here are a few places we have seen them: Windows, Mirrors, Doors, Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, ATV's, Snowmobiles, Boats, Kayaks, Helmets, Jet skis, Skateboards, Snowboards, Surfboards, Drums, Guitars, Keyboards, Laptops, Mailboxes
Sticker sets can be separated and applied individually. Cut carefully with scissors between each track to separate.
